Prof. (Dr.) Nirmala Kumari obtained her Ph.D as well as Master's Degree in Labour and Social Welfare (LSW) from Patna University, Patna. She attained her Bachelor of Arts degree from Patna Women’s College, Patna University, Patna. Furthermore, she acquired B.Ed degree from Patna University, Patna and MBA from IGNOU, New Delhi.
Prof. (Dr.) Nirmala Kumari served as a professor in the University Department of Industrial Relations & Personnel Management, T.M. Bhagalpur University, Bhagalpur from 07th November 1996 to 27th January 2023 prior to taking over the command of the MBA Programme on 27th January 2023. She has to her credit a rich industry and teaching experience viz. more than 28 years of academic experience, five years of administrative experience as the hostel superintendent of University PG Girls’ Hostel and about two years as Coordinator of Equal Opportunity Cell, T.M. Bhagalpur University.
She has authored two books and has edited four books and has to her credit more than 20 articles in National and International journals viz. Indian Journal of Industrial Relations (SRC), Indian Journal of Labour Economics and many more. She has participated and presented papers in more than 35 conferences and seminars; as well as participated in more than five academic workshops including NAAC Workshop (Women Administrator in Higher Education) for seven days at Kolkata besides participating and presenting a paper in 2nd Global Labour Conference. Furthermore, she has successfully guided eleven Ph.D Research Scholars while six Research Scholars are pursuing Ph.D under her guidance.
Prof. (Dr.) Nirmala Kumari being an Army Officer's wife is a Life Time Member of the Army Wives’ Welfare Association. In addition, she is also a Lifetime Member of IJLEC Indian Society of Labour Economics (ISLE). She is an active member in all academic, sports and extra-curricular activities at the University as well as the inter-universities level.
