About T.M. Bhagalpur University

                       The Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University earlier known as Bhagalpur University is situated in Bhagalpur town of Bihar in India. The University has been named after a great freedom fighter Tilka Manjhi who sacrificed his life fighting against the British misrule. This university was established on 12 July 1960 as a public university and a well renowned institute for providing higher education in the area. The university campus acquires 264 acres of land in lush green surrounding ideal for learning and teaching. There are more than 36 teaching departments and around 24 affiliated colleges and 4 research centers associated with the university. The University also has 4 research centers. The university is fully accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). It is also a member of Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and it is a member of Association of Common Wealth Universities. The University has made collaboration with foreign Universities like University of Vienna, the University of Bristol, the University of Kent, University of Lyon, University of Notre Dame etc. The courses offered by the university have been approved by University Grants Commission (UGC) of India and other regulatory bodies.
The post graduate courses offered by the University are master in Botany, Zoology, Physics, Maths, Chemistry, Computer and Biotechnology. Master of Arts degree in Economics, Geography, History, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu, Bengali, Maithili and many other courses which are offered at any other national Universities. It provides courses in languages like classical Persian also. The University has boomed the educational quality in the state of Bihar. Students from the northern Bihar generally take admission in the University. It is an educational treasure for Bihar.
This university has the pride of having one of the oldest college in Bihar like T. N. B. College, Bhagalpur. It has produced several students which are today placed at various renowned places.
